Cowardice is despised, recklessness is unwise, courage is the perfect choice.
Attaining courage from a point of cowardice requires purposeful reckless acts, you are already used to a comfort zone in cowardice, getting out of that comfort zone is reckless.
If you were fearful, overcoming fear is reckless, if you were poor, overcoming poverty is reckless. Getting accustomed to, and building a comfort zone around recklessness counterbalances the comfort around cowardice, achieving this has already made you courageous.
Your brain builds new neural circuits as you act engage in purposeful acts of recklessness.
In life, cowardice keeps you from what you want, recklessness keeps you stranded because your devil-may--care actions makes you foolhardy, oftentimes recklessness makes you forget why you wanted it in the first place.
Only courage gets you what you want.
Attaining courage from a point of recklessness requires well-timed acts of cowardice, someone who was born into a dangerous environment needs build recklessness to survive, cowardice doesn't help in keeping him alive. As he grows older, he realizes that blind recklessness is self-destructing.
It only takes humility to learn the ways of cowardice, he has to be a coward for a while before he can attain true courage. If you make yourself a doormat for human beings, they will happily trample on you, if you have no choice but to be trampled upon because you have a goal in sight, then you have to act the coward to win.
The desire to achieve your goals have to surpass the desire to gratify your 'bruised' ego temporarily.
When your brain has built new neural circuits based on your cowardly actions, you will feel you have attained that balance - the goal you seek, courage.
Courage is the game-changer.
Acts of recklessness are rooted in emotional blindspots, the roots of all mishaps and dangers that could be avoided. A man who suddenly reads the story of Daniel decides to offer himself to a lion, he has had no successful prior encounters with lions but overestimates himself because he thinks he is a 'Daniel'. His reckless behavior will make him a gifted lunch to the courageous lion.
Acts of cowardice are rooted in fears, the root of all retrogression. You can't move forward in life if you are afraid to leave what you are used to.
Only courage gives the faith to leave your comfort zone, conquer the unknowns and achieve your goals.
