Selfless Giving
Selfless Giving.
The abundant mindset sees continuity in all things, as abundance fosters ongoing prosperity, while the mindset of lack sees an end to everything, as scarcity leads to cessation. Misers live in the consciousness of scarcity and fear that circumstances may one day not favor wealth and prosperity, so they prepare for that possibility. On the other hand, those with an abundant mindset live in the consciousness of plenty and sufficiency; as long as there is oxygen to breathe and life to live, there will always be enough to sustain the needs of someone with an abundant mindset.
Becoming a Cheerful Giver
Cheerful giving from the heart is one of the best things that can happen to anyone in life. The cost of cheerful giving is high, but whoever pays it enjoys immense blessings. The blessings of Abraham are still evident today. His willingness to offer his beloved son Isaac back to the one who gave him is a testament to this. Similarly, Jesus offered his entire life as a ransom, and the blessings of his sacrifice are evident today.
The Impact of Life's Storms
The storms of life that reveal man's inadequacy and lack often lead to reluctant giving. If one isn't receiving full joy from something, then one isn't giving fully to it. How great is one's poverty if he thinks that giving a certain percentage of physical money equates to being ripped off? Not everyone even earns in physical currencies, yet they give all of themselves in service to Him who owns them.
The Joy of Giving
The joy and love that a man receives from his wife can also be given to him by multiple other women who are not married to him, genuinely and in good faith. Why? Simply because he has given all of himself to God, and God saw his giving and rewarded him.
There was a man who understood this truth, sold all he had, and bought the prized pearl that would unlock the kingdom for him. This is the way of real truth and real riches in life.
Divine Wisdom
God's foolishness is wiser than man's greatest wisdom, and true selfless giving will inspire more selfless giving. One would be willing to give anything, not out of necessity, but out of great love and devotion to the Lord.
