Happiness and Fulfillment of Purpose
Happiness and Fulfillment of Purpose
True happiness lies in fulfilling one's purpose, which is also the ultimate state of well-being. It’s reassuring to know that actions taken to fulfill one's purpose are usually justified. A purpose is not just a job; it is one's essence and contributes to society's overall well-being. Actions aligned with one’s purpose are justified, and there is no shame in fulfilling it.
Every purpose comes with its own set of blessings. For example, Bezaleel is skilled in craftsmanship, and his purpose involves creating sculptures that beautify a place where God can dwell. Within his purpose lies his fame, wealth, and romantic attractions. David, on the other hand, is skilled in warfare, royalty, and poetry. His purpose involves using all his skills to govern his people according to God's standards. Within his purpose are his kingship, victories, romantic affiliations, and family joys.
Bezaleel is not a fighter; if he decides to fight and wins, he will not gain the rewards that David, whose purpose includes fighting, would receive. Similarly, David is not a sculptor; building the temple will not bring him the blessings that Bezaleel would receive, no matter how beautiful the temple is, because it is not part of his purpose. However, both will experience the peak of happiness that comes with fulfilling their respective purposes.
A purpose is unique to each individual, along with the challenges, rewards, and glories that come with it. This reality extends even to the unseen worlds. Daniel, for example, had an understanding of dreams and visions, which aligned with his purpose. For many, dreams are merely pictures or moving images concocted by the mind based on daily life experiences. For Daniel, however, they were significant and impactful, affecting great kings and their kingdoms to the extent that even princes of the air were moved by his understanding.
Gabriel, an angel of God, was sent to deliver a message to Daniel. On his way, he encountered a prince who governed the air in Persia. This prince resisted and imprisoned him for three weeks with the help of the king of Persia. The prince knew that Daniel's ability to receive dreams from the ethereal realm and interpret them in reality could lead to changes in the material world, thereby strengthening the earth and its dominators.
Do angels pray? Perhaps. Gabriel, unable to overpower the prince of Persia, called for Michael, who was more powerful. Michael overpowered the prince and freed Gabriel, who then delivered the message to Daniel. Daniel's purpose was to act as an intermediary between heaven and earth. He understood the unseen and could translate that understanding into the material world. His choices and lifestyle were shaped by his purpose, which had such influence that princes of the air did all they could to subvert it. Few people had such reach.
The most influential individuals are those who are guided by purpose. Discovering one's purpose is not easy. Purpose is something every person who has found their uniqueness naturally walks into. It becomes more apparent as one begins to find their true unique voice.
In the world we live in, we’re either walking in our purpose or in the purpose of someone else. This is why some are richer or more influential than others and why those who follow someone else’s purpose often make those with a clear purpose wealthier.
So, your pastor isn’t exploiting you. Your pastor has a purpose, and because you are still discovering yours, you are giving your full attention to your pastor's purpose. He benefits because he has paid and continues to pay the price of discovering his purpose.
When you find yours, your pastor will give similar attention to you and you'll reap your earned rewards.
